South Korea’s leading automobile company Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai Motor Company) has launched its mid-size electric crossover car Ioniq 5. The company expects this new car to take it to the third position in the list of global electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers by 2025.
The company says that this new car has been built on the new electric vehicle platform, which uses its own battery module technology. It requires fewer components than existing electric cars from Hyundai, which will lead to faster production at a lower cost.
With the launch of Ioniq 5, Hyundai aims to achieve a 10 percent share of global electric vehicle sales by 2025. Hyundai and Kia together had a combined market share of 7.2 percent during the January-September period in 2020, according to industry tracker SNE Research. Hyundai Motor and its associate company Kia Corp (Kia Corp) together want to sell one million EVs in 2025.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Features
The new model is the production version of the 45 Concept unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In this electric car, the company has given 20-inch alloy wheels, a raked front windshield, a black roof, and sleek LED headlamps with pop-up door handles.
It is being given the largest size wheel in the form of an electric vehicle. In the new Ioniq 5, the company has given a 12-inch touchscreen system, and the gear selector has been given behind the steering wheel.

Prices for the Ioniq 5 EV start at $43,650. The base price of the Ioniq 5 isn’t much compared to other all-electric SUVs like the Ford Mustang Mach-E ($42,895), Volkswagen ID.4 ($39,995), and Tesla Model Y ($58,990).
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited checks in with a starting MSRP of $50,600. It’s also above average, but it’s still thousands of dollars less than the most expensive model in the class.

This electric crossover is currently available with two battery packs. The maximum range of 72.6kwh is 481 km while the maximum range of 58 kwh is 385 km.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is offered in two options, 2WD and AWD. A single motor setup is available in the base variant, and it can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 8.5 seconds. Whereas the dual-motor version can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 5.2 seconds. And the maximum speed of this version is 185 km.
