2023 Polestar 2 EV Review
The Polestar 2 is an electric car that combines the styling of a sedan, the practicality of a hatchback, and the seating height of a crossover. As part of Volvo’s EV subsidiary, Polestar, this model only comes with a large battery pack and an electric motor powering the front wheels. Whether you choose the more powerful all-wheel-drive setup or either way, this car is a delight to drive. Its minimalist interior is attractive and it gives the single-motor version 270 miles of range according to the EPA, while the dual-motor version is rated for 260 miles of range.

Polestar 2 EV Range, Charging, and Battery Life
The electrified version of this platform houses a 75.0-kWh lithium-ion battery pack under the floor; the electrical system supports up to 150 kW of fast charging, and Polestar claims it can charge a dead battery up to 80% in 40 minutes. And while the single-motor model has an estimated range of 270 miles, the dual-motor is rated for 260 miles of range on a single charge.
Polestar 2 EV Price
The Polestar 2 car has a base MSRP of $48,400, one of the lowest starting prices in the segment, and a price of $51,900 for the Dual Motor all-wheel-drive model. Its BST version goes up to $75,500 for the 270.
Polestar 2 EV Motor, Power, and Performance
Unlike the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant of the Polestar 2 electric vehicle, only the 228 hp single-motor version is a front-wheel drive, and this variant delivered an exceptional 6.8-second 60 mph time in testing. The dual-motor test vehicle was equipped with the Performance Package, which includes 20-inch wheels and summer tires, along with stiffer suspension components including adjustable Ohlins dampers and upgraded Brembo front brakes. This combination contributed to the 2’s 0.90 g of cornering grip and 70 mph 157-foot stopping distance in tests, and Polestar also offers three levels of regenerative braking.

Polestar 2 EV Interior
There’s a lot to like in the interiors of the Polestar 2 EV. The cabin feels very sturdy and well-built, and it’s trimmed with many recycled – yet it’s high-quality materials that help reduce the car’s carbon footprint the overall styling is modern and minimalistic, but not Tesla-level stark, and the interior benefits from some luxe carryover items from sister company Volvo, like the steering wheel and some switchgear. Overall, this car is cool and comfortable, although it’s not exactly colorful.
Polestar 2 EV Infotainment, Bluetooth & Navigation
The highlight of the Polestar 2 EV is its 11.2-inch touch screen the tablet-like display runs the latest version of the Android automotive operating system and impresses with sleek graphics, fast responses, and a very intuitive menu structure.
Its home screen is divided into four tiles; Audio, phone, navigation, and the “Hey Google” virtual assistant. You’ll find shortcut icons at the top of the screen for vehicle settings, a home button at the base, a row of climate controls, and a volume knob on the center console. A single tap or swipe in it sends all those actions full screen. The setup looks futuristic and makes it easy to adjust the settings.
Polestar’s 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster also deserves praise, and this configurable display shows a wealth of relevant driving information in a crisp and uncluttered fashion.
What’s new for Polestar 2 EV 2023?
Dual-motor examples of the Polestar 2 car gain an additional 11 miles of projected driving range for 2023. Polestar has also expanded the color palette in the Polestar 2 with two new available exterior colors, a new interior color scheme, and 2’s 19- and 20-inch wheel options. A racier BST Edition 270 model will be offered in minimal numbers and has lowered suspension and features adjustable Ohlins dampers. The unique 21-inch wheels are wrapped in specially designed Pirelli P Zero performance tires.
