Nissan Ariya range
Many electric SUVs give you two options for battery size, and the Nissan Ariya follows that trend. The base version of the Aria has a 63-kWh battery pack, and this is similar in capacity to the standard battery packs in the Mustang Mach-E and Hyundai Ioniq EV 5. It can be mated to a single electric motor for front-wheel drive or a dual-motor setup that provides all.
With this configuration, Nissan says you can expect it to have a range of 216 miles on a full charge with front-wheel drive and 205 miles with all-wheel drive. These ranges are below average for the class, in general, you can expect around 230 to 240 miles with the base electric SUV. But it should still be sufficient if most of your driving is around town.
For more long-distance driving capability, you need an extended-range battery. It has an 87-kWh capacity and offers slightly more power as well, 238 horsepower and 389 horsepower with FWD. With the bigger battery and FWD, the Ariya has a Nissan-estimated range of 304 miles. It is more competitive and similar to what you see in rival electric vehicles. Of course, we’ll know for sure how the Nissan Aria performs when we get one in for a full test and run it through our Edmunds real-world range, consumption testing.

The 2023 Nissan Ariya electric car rides smoothly and stays calm around the corners. That stability continues to the steering and braking as well. Steering the Aria feels smooth and responsive, without any jerkiness or jerkiness. Let off the accelerator and the car will coast or cruise slowly under regenerative braking. The same can’t be said for all-electric vehicles as the biggest downside is that the Regen isn’t strong enough for true one-pedal driving.
Nissan Ariya interior
There are plenty of soft surfaces to cover up a healthy dose of hard plastic. In this, large swaths of wood-like trim on the dash and center console add an upscale touch, as does the soft ambient glow emanating from the doors and footwells. The flat overlaid buttons on top of those wooden surfaces are a nice touch. The front seats are another strength for their slim but cushiony cushion and comfortable structure. Getting in and out of it is a breeze because the 2024 Nissan Ariya electric car doesn’t have thick doors, which makes getting inside a brisk step on some electric vehicles.

How long does it take to charge a Nissan Ariya?
Nissan says the Ariya can DC fast-charge at a rate of 130 kW on a fast charger, which is enough to go from 20% to 80% capacity in 40 minutes with the extended-range battery. That’s slightly slower than the times quoted for most rivals, including the Mustang Mach-E and ID.4. The Ioniq 5 is the speedster of the group and can charge in less than half the time assuming you have a station powerful enough to support it, and the 240-volt charging time at home for the Aria is even shorter. In both these cases, we do not have any issues with the charging time of the Aerea. That’s enough of the way most people use their electric vehicles. Just know that some rival electric vehicles may charge a little quicker.
Nissan Leaf owners should be aware that the Aria’s DC fast-charging port uses the Combined Charging System connector. This Chademo-style connector is different from the one used by Nissan on its Leaf electric vehicle, and we’re glad to see it as CCS is becoming the de facto standard at public fast-charging stations.
Does Ariya have a freckle?
The 2023 Nissan Ariya electric card does do not have a trunk (front trunk), but this can partly be explained by the short hood. The trunk appears to be quite big and as per the video, it can fit eight banana boxes.
