2023 Lucid Air Review
The Lucid Air luxury sedan is one of the few ever to have both its large battery and compact motors designed in-house and allowing it to deliver unbeatable range and great performance. According to the EPA, the Grand Touring Performance model can make the jump to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, or when driven slowly, the car can travel 516 miles. That’s enough range to go from Boston to Baltimore with electrons left over, and more importantly, it has more range than any other electric vehicle currently available.
The new Sapphire model is even quicker, with a claimed 60 mph time of under 2.0 seconds. The Lucid Air’s stylish exterior and spacious cabin add to its desirability, but its price tag had us expecting to find plusher materials inside.

Lucid Air infotainment, Bluetooth, and navigation
The Lucid Air’s infotainment system manages to be both futuristic and user-friendly, which is more often than not the case. The curved 34-inch display called the Glass Cockpit is prominently mounted behind the steering wheel, and it’s essentially three touch screens in one. The left-side touchscreen manages basic vehicle functions such as headlights, door locks, and windshield wipers. It has an instrument cluster with middle touch screen information on speed, charge level, gear position, and safety alerts. And the touch screen on the right handles media, radio, and navigation functions.
This car is a feast for the eyes, and it doesn’t take long to get used to, partly due to its simple layout, and slick graphics. Thanks for the quick responses it’s also accompanied by another touch screen, called the Pilot Panel, that retracts into the center of the dashboard when not in use. Above that are some physical controls for audio volume, air temperature, and fan speed, so you don’t have to rely on taps or swipes to control each function.
Lucid Air Driving Cargo Space
The Lucid Air Car has front and rear trunks and the front trunk, or frunk, has 7.1 cubic feet of space, is large enough to load groceries or a few backpacks, and is also divided into two levels, which allows items to help prevent rolling around. Its rear trunk features a unique clamshell design with an opening that is as wide as the car itself and loading and unloading cargo is a cinch.
