2022 Rimac Nevera Review: Price, Performance, Engine Interior & Features

2022 Rimac Nevera Review -The Rimac Nevera is an electric hypercar. With stupendous performance figures that defy logic and seem sent from the future. With the Nevera’s four electric motors producing a combined 1,914 hp, the car will sprint from 0-60 mph in an incredible 1.85 seconds. While many electric vehicles run out of steam at higher speeds the Nevera will reach 258 mph at the top end.

However, it is the equally powerful Lotus Evija that the Nevara will have to answer to and an aerodynamic masterpiece, with an advanced monocoque construction, the Navara is not only capable in a straight line but is also a superbly balanced hypercar. The Rimac Navara has proved itself a worthy successor to Concept One in every aspect.

What is the cost of the Rimac Nevera?

The Rimac Nevera is priced at 2 million euros and at current rates, this translates to approximately $2.3 million. Few hypercars occupy the space in this price range; The Koenigsegg Gemera plug-in hybrid comes in at less than $2 million, and Bugatti doesn’t have a fully electric car on the market yet. The Lotus Evija car is probably Navara’s closest competitor at this stage and is also a fully electric hypercar, this car also makes around 2,000 hp, and costs almost the same as the Navara.

Rimac Nevera Performance

Its numbers are simply staggering. With four electric motors, the Rimac Nevara produces a sensational 1,914 hp and 1,740 lb-ft of torque and each wheel is driven independently by one of these motors, providing maximum traction depending on what mode the car is in. and allows for dramatically different dynamic behavior.

All this translates to a 0 to 60 mph time of just 1.85 seconds, although the Remake specifies that this is on a high friction surface with a one-foot roll-out and no gas-only model can compete with that, and even the 1,020 hp Tesla Model S Plaid is the slowest fastest sedan in the world and the quarter-mile time is equally impressive, taking the Navara only 8.582 seconds. That’s comfortably faster than the previous record held by the Model S Plaid by just over nine seconds. A top speed of 258 mph can be achieved with the Rimac Nevera.

Rimac Nevera Engine and Transmission

It’s not just the Rimac Navara’s total outputs of 1,914 hp and 1,740 lb-ft that are impressive. How these four electric motors work together so the driver can actually use it and these four independent, surface-mounted, carbon sleeve, permanent-magnet electric motors are located at each wheel. The Navara Kar also has four independent inverters and gearboxes and enables all-wheel drive with software-controlled torque vectoring.

The motors at the rear are more powerful, each making 653 hp, while the front ones make 299 hp, and at the rear, there’s a double single-speed direct-drive gearbox, the Nevera effectively has two gearboxes in one housing located between the motors. Up front, there are two single-speed gearboxes but each is mounted on the outer end of the axle.

The entire setup requires five cooling systems and two refrigerant circuits. The final piece of the complex puzzle is the 120-kWh lithium manganese nickel battery.

To drive, the AWD Rimac is initially very docile. You know the power is there, and you can effectively navigate congested roads if you need to.

Rimac Nevera Gas Mileage

The EPA hasn’t published MPGe specs for the Navara yet, but the absence of an ICE engine means you can avoid the shocking fuel economy and cost of something like the Bugatti Chiron. And not that anyone buying a Navara would worry about running costs, of course. According to the automaker, the Rimac Navara has a range of up to 340 miles based on the WLTP cycle. We expect that number to be closer to 300 miles when we share our findings.

The 120-kWh battery can be charged from 0-80% in as little as 19 minutes with 500 kWh DC fast charging on the Nevara when available, with 4Charging at 350 kW, that time increases to 25 minutes and 30 at 250 kW Minutes pass.

Rimac Nevera Interior

The Navara two-seater cabin has been designed to suit both track EPA driving and Grand Touring and Rimac has divided the space into two areas, with the top section focused on performance and driving pleasure, and the lower section containing the infotainment controls there are convenience settings like comfort. There’s a trio of TFT screens that can be customized to show the amount of information desired by the driver and despite being a far cry from Bentley in terms of luxury, the Navara is built to a high standard. Because it’s noticeable in details like the billet aluminum used for the rotary controls and the soft upholstery for the seats.

Rimac Nevera Exterior

Considering its breathtaking performance, the Rimac Navara isn’t exactly the most dramatic hypercar to look at but that’s not to say it won’t turn heads, but it’s clear the focus has been on function over form, and aerodynamics are top-notch. The car rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. This active aerodynamic system is found throughout the Navara and features a front underbody flap, a hood flap that reduces drag, and an active rear wing. In its range mode, the underbody vents are closed and the rear wing is retracted for lower drag. The rear wing also acts as the car’s air brake which can be activated in just 0.2 seconds.
